Brownfields 2003:
The fourth annual Brownfields conference, held by The Canadian Urban Institute and the City of Kitchener, Brownfields 2003: the Changing Landscape,took place to great acclaim on October 23. This year's program included the presentation of the CUI Brownie Awards, recognizing leadership, innovation and environmental sustainability in brownfields redevelopment across Canada, and introduced the Ontario Brownfields Marketplace, a forum for deal-making that puts the investment community in contact with brownfields investment opportunities. Nearly 350 delegates filled the soon to be renovated Kaufman Building to network and learn from each other.
