CANADIAN BROWNFIELDS 2005: Developing Livable Communities

A two-day conference designed to advance your thinking on brownfield redevelopment, featuring top speakers, case studies, local tours, the CBN Marketplace, and presentation of the 2005 CUI Brownie Awards. Our conference chair was Jeff Westeinde, Chief Operating Officer, Westeinde Group. and a member of the Canadian Brownfields Network Advisory Panel.

On DAY ONE: An opening keynote address from the Hon. John Godfrey, Minister of State (Infrastructure and Communities). Plus: Key presentations from the UK and the US, illustrating how effective working with local agencies has set, met targets and accelerated Market transformation for Brownfield redevelopments. Along with the country’s leading practitioners in remediation, finance, law, planning and community improvement. Plus: presentation of the 2005 CUI Brownie Awards, sponsored again this year by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

On DAY TWO: The second annual meeting of the Canadian Brownfields Network. Two streams of workshops – Sustainable Technologies and Community Planning - to advance your knowledge of policy, practice and technological innovations with the option to tour Ottawa’s most innovative brownfield redevelopment projects. Plus – an extended CBN Marketplace, a forum to meet and exchange ideas with consultants, economic developers and industry associations that runs throughout the conference.
