The Canadian Urban Institute's International Programs Office has had programming in the Americas since the mid-1990s, with initiatives in the Caribbean, Central America, South America and Mexico. These initiatives have been supporting local government reform, the strengthening of the local governance systems, environmental management, economic development and social development.
